Rue Sainte-Catherine
Premiered: February 2026
Rue Sainte-Catherine is a group piece that was created in residency with the York Dance Ensemble. Inspired by the work of Jean-Pierre Perreault, motifs of unison and rhythm convey a collective journey toward human connection in a dystopian landscape. As a queer and nonbinary person in the midst of anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and legislation, I understand the vitality of community. In Rue Sainte-Catherine, the dancers gradually shift from total detachment to intimate connection, showing that it is possible to find a supportive network to give them hope.

In Situ
Premiered: May 2021, Remounted: March 2026
In Situ is a self-solo work that uses the vocabulary of threading technique and contemporary movement to symbolize the process of self-discovery. The combination of movement vocabularies parallels the layered natures of our identities. I am investigating the personal development that can occur when we strip away the layers of external judgement and expectations that are placed on us, asking the question: Who are we when no one is watching?
